Searching for the Best Kolo Mee in JB

After some research from the net, there is some people who recommended that the best Mee Kolo (sarawak version of dry noodle) in Johor Bahru is serve in the Restoran Orang Asli. My first try to visit there is unsuccessful. First it takes me more than 1 hour to reach the destination due to the direction and location given is not accurate. And when accidentally i found the shop, it's closed for business already.

So i purposely arrange to try it out today with my sister's family. Whom just came back from Sabah for National Day Holiday.

Business Hour : 7.30am ~ 3.30pm

Address : Jalan Keindahan 1, Taman Skudai Indah.

Closed on : Every Wednesday

GPS : 1.532004,103.633042 (Get direction by key-in the number into Google map @ maps.google.com)

Direction : It's located between mutiara rini and taman u.

Talking about the food there, they offer the same noodle but with different ingredients with different price range from RM4.50 to RM10.5.

So i ordered a RM10.5 big bowl noodle(RM10.5) set for RM12. Which consist of 1 big bowl of course, noodles usually 1 pcs but no charge with additionel noodle requested, 2 big prawn, 4pcs of abalone, a few pcs of fried fish and a few slice of chicken char siew. Add on to that is the 3 color tea.

The 3 layer of the 3 color tea (三色奶茶)is made up by :
1st Layer : Ice and Tea.
2nd Layer : Milk.
3rd Layer : Chlorophyll (叶绿素)

Secondly We ordered also the normal charsiew chicken mee kolo.

The price is RM4.50.

The flavouring, is not strong enough, so we requested additional fried mince meat, but it turns out slightly oilly.
The noodle, which which they made themselve in their shop itself, selling for RM6 per KG. still not as perfect as the one i have tried before. Personally i feel still not tender enough.

Aside to that we try out also the Sarawak version of Mee Laksa. To me, i have never taste the original version of the Laksa yet, personally i feel like the taste is more like a maggi mee flavour with additional curry taste.

All in all in conclusion. The meal is not so ex with not bad taste. I gave them 3.5 out of 5 star - worth trying. My recommendation is that If u go in a pair. Try the set one with double noodles, it is more worth it as the ingredient given is more.

Don't mind going again, but yet so far the tastiest Mee Kolo i have try is at the 777 food centre in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, which is no more open for business there anymore. Anyone who know where he had shifted to, pls let me know.
